There are many ways to refer to OptiGrafix™ retardation films. Retarder films are used to ”rotate” polarized light by a predictable amount.
This is accomplished through the application of a uniform birefringent film. Grafix Plastics produces different grades of retarder film based on the type and
amount of birefringence in the film. Our core retarder films can be manufactured to have specific in-plane birefringent values anywhere from 20nm up to 300nm
in a single layer of polymer film. Our retarders also exhibit a natural amount of out-of-plane birefringence. Grafix Plastics can also produce more exotic retarders
with multilayer lamination, to create higher value in plane retarders, achromatic retarders and negative c plate retarders. Each grade of retarder film has its own
unique set of benefits and applications.
